My son is currently 3 yrs old and I did some investigating on resources that would help me teach literacy, be enjoyable for him and that wouldn’t force him to sit for long periods of time and lose focus. I came across several of these by others recommendations. He loves to be read to so I incorporated “Before 5 in a row”. It has creative ideas to gently teach different subjects with the same storybooks. I can concentrate on language arts only if I choose to but it has proven to be useful in many other subjects as well. Another resource has been “Get ready for the Code-A” and this workbook has helped my son keep his focus and listen to what is being said and follow through with directions. It has been a combination of literacy and writing and contains basic principles in language arts. He works on literacy only for a short time and then I find hands on activities that will teach literacy.
